Donald J. Elmer, Interim CEO and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Elmer is the managing general partner of Pacific Horizon Ventures. He is currently a board member of Illumigen Biosciences, iScience Interventionaland Novocell. He has extensive prior board experience and has successful operational experience over a twelve-year period in early-stage technology companies, including Cascadia Technology Corporation-a medical electronics company-and Cygnet Systems Corporation-a software developer. Mr. Elmer received his M.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

John Reno, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Reno has over twenty years experience in pharmaceutical development. He has been president of Perlan Therapeutics, chief operating officer of IBC Pharmaceuticals, and vice president research & development and general manager oncology for NeoRx Corporation. While at NeoRx, he was part of the leadership that gained FDA approval for the company's first drug. Dr. Reno obtained his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Michigan State University where he discovered a drug approved for the treatment of herpes virus infections. He is an inventor on 42 issued US patents.

Stephen Becker, M.D., Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Becker joined Koronis in 2006 from AnorMED, where he served as medical director and safety officer, clinical development. At AnorMED, Dr. Becker directed the clinical development program for the company's HIV entry inhibitor and stem cell mobilization programs. Dr. Becker brings nearly 30 years of medical and research experience to the Company. Dr. Becker has served as principal investigator for numerous HIV trials and directed large multi-site, collaborative research studies in HIV including the Collaborations in HIV Outcomes Research (CHORUS) study, which involved more than 8,000 HIV patients. From 1980 to 2005 he served on the faculty at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine and led a practice specializing in HIV treatment. Dr. Becker received his M.D. from State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and an A.B. in psychology from University of Pennsylvania.

David Drajeske, Director of Business Development

Mr. Drajeske brings more than a decade of business development experience in the life sciences industry. He formerly served as Vice President of Business Development for Helix BioMedix, a publicly traded biotechnology company, from 2004 to 2006. While at Helix, Mr. Drajeske was involved in the initiation and negotiation of multiple development collaborations and the first commercial license of Helix technology. Prior to Helix, Mr. Drajeske served as Manager of Business Development for Immunex Corporation. He has also served as Senior Manager, Business Development and Alliance Management for Thermogen, Inc. and Medichem Life Sciences. Mr. Drajeske received an M.S. in Biotechnology from Northwestern University's Kellogg Center for Biotechnology and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue University.

Mark G. Fromhold, Ph.D., Director of Manufacturing

Dr. Fromhold joined Koronis from ICOS Corporation where he served as senior CMC project manager for small molecule manufacturing. In this capacity, he headed multidisciplinary teams of scientist and technical professionals responsible for development and delivery of drug substance and drug product supporting pre-clinical/clinical investigations and associated regulatory filings. In addition, Dr. Fromhold also headed strategic sourcing and external GMP manufacturing while at ICOS and has direct experience managing manufacturing operations in the US, EU, Canada, Japan and China. Prior to ICOS, Dr. Fromhold worked as a research scientist for Chiron Corporation, where he led CMC teams and headed process development and scale-up of numerous drug candidate molecules ranging from reverse transcriptase and kinase inhibitors to antibacterials. Dr. Fromhold received his Ph.D. (synthetic organic chemistry) and M.S. (inorganic chemistry) from Indiana University and a B.S. (chemistry) from Hope College.

Jeff Parkins, Director of Operations

Mr. Parkins has over 17 years experience in pharmaceutical drug and biologics development. Prior to working with Koronis he managed manufacturing, clinical, quality and project management functions at NeoRx Corporation and served on their executive staff. Mr. Parkins received his B.S. in microbiology from Oregon State University and an M.B.A. from Seattle Pacific University.

Kevin S. Harris, Ph.D., Senior Virologist

Dr. Harris joined Koronis from Abbott Laboratories, where he was employed as a senior molecular biologist. In his capacity at Koronis, Dr. Harris initiated a cell culture based screen for identifying and characterizing new anti-HIV compounds. Over the past 15 years he has presented in conferences around the world, has authored numerous publications and is a member of the American Society of Virology. Dr. Harris received his Ph.D. from SUNY Stony Brook in 1994 and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA.
